
Karen Boyle
March 1955 - June 2018
Ms. Boyle retired in 2017 after 39 years of federal service. She began her federal career with the U.S. Customs Service in July 1977. Hired as a secretary, she was later promoted to Accounting Technician responsible for paying invoices for Customs Regional Offices. From 1985 to 1987, she worked for the Federal Trade Commission, also as an Accounting Technician.
Ms. Boyle rejoined the Customs Service in 1987. In 2004, when Customs pilots transitioned to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, she helped create new organization codes for all impacted financial systems. She accomplished this feat again in 2005 during the U.S. Customs and Border Protection consolidation.
In 2005, Ms. Boyle’s hard work and dedication to service was recognized when she was promoted to Budget Director in the newly formed Office of Air and Marine. She served in this position for 5 years before transferring to Manassas Air Branch in 2010. She retired as a Supervisory Mission Support Specialist overseeing mission support staff at the Plattsburgh, Houlton, and New York Air Units.
