A Bit About Nick

Mr. Ammons is a disabled Army Veteran who started out at 17 in the split op program and has extensive international experience, including serving in combat on multiple deployments and as a former Senior Executive Service (SES) advisor to the Department of Homeland Security. He brings a unique perspective and skill set to his critical positions. Mr. Ammons' career spans various domains, from government contracting and law enforcement to entrepreneurship and managing multimillion-dollar enterprises. During his tenure as an SES advisor assigned by the White House, he had the privilege of contributing to the strategic direction and operational effectiveness of the Department of Homeland Security, focusing on international jurisdictions such as the Dominican Republic, Kuwait, Ukraine, and Jamaica. This experience deepened his extensive understanding of global security challenges and reinforced his commitment to fostering interagency cooperation and collaboration with foreign allies. Additionally, as the Director of Border Security & Interdiction Domain Development for MAG Aerospace for over three years, Mr. Ammons worked closely with multiple agencies to ensure Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) work was performing at its best for the United States and its allies within the existing treaties. One of these agencies was Customs and Border Protection, Air and Marine Operations (AMO). His passion for AMO developed through the mentors that came along following his military police career in 2005. 

 

Mr. Ammons gained extensive experience in government contracting, navigating intricate regulatory landscapes in multiple countries, ensuring compliance, and fostering productive relationships with stakeholders across sectors and with heads of state. His background in civilian and federal law enforcement provides a foundation for strategic thinking and the ability to forge collaborative efforts internationally to address multifaceted challenges and promote public safety.

 

As an entrepreneur, Mr. Ammons successfully launched and managed businesses in diverse cultural contexts, showcasing agility, innovation, and leadership on a global scale. 

 

He is committed to the success of the Air and Marine Family Foundation. He will leverage his diverse experiences and global perspective to drive meaningful change, promote cross-cultural understanding, and create opportunities for increased success in an interconnected world.
